Bike Lab

The Bike Lab is a fully equipped, permanent self-service bicycle repair station at Root Access. It started as a basic repair kit donated by a community member and has since grown into a complete workspace for everything from flat tire repairs to full bicycle overhauls.

The Bike Lab is free and open to the public for basic repairs during regular open hours — no membership required. Members may use the full station for more involved work any time it's available. The station can be reserved in 2-hour blocks through the Reservations page; reserved blocks take precedence over unreserved use.

  • If the station is not currently reserved, members may use it at will.
  • Reserved blocks take precedence — if someone has a reservation starting soon, please wrap up and clear the station.
  • If you make a reservation and won't use it, please remove it so other members can have access.

Rules

  • Leave all tools clean and returned to their labeled spots after every use.
  • Leave the station tidy for the next person.
  • Do not remove tools from the Bike Lab area.
  • Log any consumables used on the honor sheet and leave a contribution if you're able.
  • Report damaged or missing tools.
  • Guests are welcome to use the station during your session but remain your responsibility.
