We are organizing efforts to make cloth face masks and distribute them to those who need them. Although face masks only offer limited protection, they are an important part of personal protection and slowing down this virus.
We need to flatten the curve. Every day there are more cases of COVID-19 in the San Joaquin Valley, and we need to prevent medical facilities and healthcare workers from being overwhelmed with too many patients at once.
We need to conserve PPE. Personal Protective Equipment is vital to healthcare workers who are treating patients, and there is currently a massive shortage in our area. If you're not sick, please consider wearing a homemade mask instead of buying one and contributing to the shortage of PPE.
It's dangerous to go alone! Take this.
We are prioritizing those who are most at risk – the elderly, immunocompromised, healthcare workers, volunteer efforts, and those who must interact with the public on a daily basis – but we are accepting requests from anyone and will do our best to provide.
Do you know how to sew? There are a lot of face masks to be made, and we need all the help we can get. Don't have the materials? We'll drop off what you need and pick up the finished masks when you're done.
