Learn about Linux using the most BTW distro in the west.

Arch Linux has a reputation for being difficult to install, but it doesn't have to be.

In this class we'll learn Linux fundamentals by assembling an installation ourselves using Arch Linux. By the end of the class you should be able to understand what is happening under the hood when you boot up Linux on a machine, and you get the ability to say that you use Arch, BTW.

Prerequisites

Basic linux skills are expected. We will be installing Arch manually, not using an installer.

Bring your own device to install Arch on. We may have a few spare computers on a first come, first serve basis.

Arch officially supports 64 bit AMD/Intel Architectures. You may attempt another architecture( x86, ARM, RISC-V, i686, etc.) but plan to spend more time troubleshooting. See this page for a list of unnofficial ports:
