After nearly three years of heavy use, our inexpensive and heavily modified 40-watt laser cutter has bit the dust. Help us buy a bigger, better, badder one!
We are trying to raise some money to get a new, bigger, better, badder laser cutter. We know this is something a lot of folks want to see at the space, and we're with you!
The Boss Laser LS-1416 would be an upgrade from our previous laser in every way – it has a beefier 70-watt laser tube, larger cutting area, four-way pass through slots, and a rotary chuck/roller so we can engrave curved surfaces.
Having this laser would mean huge things for our community hackerspace. The COVID-19 pandemic hit us hard, and we've been completely closed the the public and our general members since March 2020. We'd love to have this laser set up sooner so we can get to know it and, once it's safe to re-open, let the community have at it and hit the ground running with all new project-based workshops.
We know you all have a ton of projects you would want to throw at this laser, so spread the word and let's get it funded!
